FAQ
QWhat is a Red Air Board made from?
A
The board material is PVC and the inner core of the board is high grade drop stitching.
QHow durable is a Red Air?
A
In a word Very. The best thing is to check out this video for the proof.
QCan I learn to SUP on a Red Air?
A
Absolutley and because they are soft they will be kinder on your body when you fall.
QHow do the boards compare to hard boards?
A
When inflated correctly and used for general Stand Up Paddling you will hardly notice a difference. For high performance surfing you will find you will have to adapt your style as the board rides differently but still rides well. The biggest benefit is that you can deflate, roll up and stash your board in the back of the car with ease and transporting it further afield is really easy. Red Airs love to travel.
QHow long can I leave the board inflated for?
A
Forever if you want. Over time you may experience some loss of pressure but that’s it. Just top it up before you go hit the water.
QHow much pressure can I put in the board?
A
It is impossible to over inflate the board using the supplied Ezee Pump. The Red Air boards are built to take a lot of pressure. Check out the board pages for more info on inflating the boards.
QHow do I maintain my board?
A
You can pretty much give it hell if you want to and it won’t mind. If you do want to treat it like an old friend then wash it down with fresh water after each use, keep out of direct sunlight and store loosely rolled or inflated.
QWhat do I get in the repair kit?
A
In the unlikely event that you put a hole in your board (we have yet to puncture one even after heavy abuse) then inside the repair kit you will find some glue and some patches that can be used to get you back up and running. A good repair should be left overnight to cure but it is possible to be back in the water within 30 mins.
Also inside the repair kit is a valve tool. You can use this to remove the valve from the board for servicing. You might never have to remove it but if you do you’ll have the right tool for the job.
QWill hot sun cause the board to over inflate?
A
Unless you live on the surface of the moon you should be OK. Hot sun just makes the board harder. Obviously like all products you should try and avoid leaving the board in the direct sunlight when not in use. At the very least you should place the board upside down on the beach/shore/riverbank.
QWhat is the best way to store the board?
A
You can store the board rolled up in the bag, fully inflated or partially inflated.
QDo you have another question?
